We are looking for an Assistant Child Care Teacher to support Towerlight's Intergenerational Child Care program by caring for and teaching young children in their assigned age group. Early Education Assistants will teach, plan, and organize childcare program activities to ensure that the program provides the highest quality childcare available.

This position includes:

  • 80 hours per two weeks ; Monday- Friday (flexible)

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Implementing developmentally age appropriate curriculum

Maintaining a child friendly and orderly classroom

Implementing effective guidance and support strategies

Coordinate and contribute to the teaching team

Supervises health, safety, and overall well being of children at all times

Participates in program areas such as intergeneration activities

Maintaining certification in Pediatric First Aid, CPR, SUIDS/AHT.

Minimum Education

High school degree- Child Development or Teacher qualified under Minnesota 9503.0032

Other License/Certification/Registration: List –

· Current Pediatric CPR from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross;

must be obtained within 90-days of hire.

Preferred Education

Two years full time post-secondary education with 9 quarter or 6 semester early childhood/child psychology or related field coursework.

Must meet Department of Human Services Rule 3 assistant teacher qualifications
