Job Description:


This position works with Patient Flow Coordinators (PFC), Physicians, Nursing, Utilization Management, Regions Direct operators, and departmental management, to ensure timely and accurate service in support of Regions’ patient access and flow. Under the daily operational direction of the PFC, the Patient Placement Representative carries out system and verbal communication to promote timely patient access and movement within the hospital. This includes daily problem solving for partners related to systems issues, accurate and timely system record initiation, data entry, creation of patient identification bands, and transport arrangements for discharging patients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: Two (2) years demonstrated successful customer service experience, including 1 year of data input experience and phone service support.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional customer service skills, with emphasis on phone communication and issue management.

  • Exceptional listening skills.

  • Exceptional verbal communication skills.

  • Strong critical thinking skills with emphasis on ‘real time’ issue resolution management.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite of products: Outlook, Word, Excel.

  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.

  • Strong PC typing skills.

  • Ability to work within both a cross functional team environment and independently.

  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential and sensitive information.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, continuously changing environment.

  • Organizational skills that enable the ability to handle multiple priorities at once with minimal supervision.

  • Strong relationship building skills with internal partners, including physicians, and external vendors.

  • Ability to understand written and verbal English instructions.

  • Ability to speak English clearly and professionally.

  • Bi-lingual language skills a plus.

  • Ability to identify, develop and implement approaches to continually improve our service levels to our customers


Education: Associate degree Experience: Call Center environment; Prior experience with hospital Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Bed Board Systems

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of medical terminology
