Must have the following in order to apply:

- Certified teacher currently employed by Pinellas County Schools; equivalent experience and education may substitute certification
- Minimum of Six (6) months of experience in related field
- Must have CPR, First Aid, AED
certifications within 30 days of hire date

**Job Description:
Education Specialist Provides support for the Middle School Academy. Coordinates student academics and tutoring schedules in conjunction with Site Director. Acts as liaison between classroom teachers and YMCA. Provides a quality experience to children and parents to support the objectives of the program.
Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Coordinates and schedules student pre- and post-assessment testing
- Coordinates student tutoring schedules in conjunction with Site Director; acts as liaison between classroom teachers and Middle School Academy
- Monitors student grades
- Assists Site Director in planning academic activities/functions
- Aids Site Director in collecting program/student data and documentation
- Attends all meetings/trainings relative to Middle School Academies, models, and supports Site Director
- Provides Site Director with grade level curriculum guides; assists with alignment of enrichment activities' calendar communicates with Site Director
- Communicates and updates Site Director Displays students' work/projects
- Promotes Middle School Academy to parents, students, staff, and school community
- Follows all programming and scheduling requirements
- Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth
- Attends required abuse risk management training
- Adheres to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising youth
- Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations
- Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements
