Job Description Summary

The Lean Manufacture Specialist is a key member of our manufacturing team, responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing Lean principles to optimise our production processes. This is a critical role within the business, the successful candidate will improve efficiency, reduce waste, and further enhance a culture of continuous improvement throughout the Business.

Working closely with all areas of Supply chain, this role will drive change, champions best and will promote a culture of innovation, simplification, and excellence.

With a strategic approach, the Lean Manufacture Specialist will lead, encourage and drive transformation and sustainable improvements that will benefit the Business and its customers.

Job Description

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Actively drive growth and promote a culture of Continuous Improvement and Data / analytical led decision making.

• Facilitate Lean activities, such as VSM, 5S and Kaizen projects.

• Continually assess manufacturing processes, identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions to maximise efficiency and reduce waste.

• Act as a mentor for Production Support Specialists and provide full support on manufacturing cells in line with delivery commitments.

• Progress the Businesses development of standard work procedures, work instructions, and visual management tools.

• Undertake root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to identify and eradicate Production related issues.

• Provide training and coaching to manufacturing teams on Lean principles, methodologies, and tools to build capability and foster a culture of continuous improvement

• Monitor key performance indicators related to manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost, and implement corrective actions as needed

• Support the introduction of new Products within the Business, assist in the development of our ERP systems and product assembly methods.

• Ensure that the organisation’s manufacturing processes comply with relevant policies and regulations.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Degree from an accredited university or college and/or significant experience in electronics or electro-mechanical Manufacturing.

  • Proven experience of production process and equipment in a world class manufacturing environment.

  • Existing experience working in an Automotive or PCB manufacturing engineering environment is also an advantage.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Proven and demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to develop, lead and coach individuals.

  • Skilled in influencing others and leadership of small-mid-sized teams.

  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.

  • Effective problem identification and solution skills.

  • Proven analytical and organizational ability.

  • Ability to deliver against agreed business critical metrics.

  • Experience with CAD drawing and Microsoft Office suite.
