Compressor Products International (CPI) which is part of Howden is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our dynamic and fast paced environment. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting all CPI products and services to existing and new customers globally.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

The Customer Service Representative is the first point of contact for all customers in matters concerning delivery, quotations, order status, warranty, and technical product information. They assist in building and managing relationships with customers and act as an advocate on their behalf.

  • Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform contract review on incoming orders, including shipping terms, freight terms, and methods to ensure the accurate information is entered and products are shipped according to the customer’s request.

  • Review and analyze customer requirements for application of products and recommend suitable product selection with regard for engineering and manufacturing capabilities.

  • Act as the inside contact and liaison for CPI customers, Sales Reps and/or Area Managers, Production Mangers, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Supply Chain and Shipping to clarify questions pertaining to customer inquiries.

  • Receive, resolve and/or escalate customer issues.

  • Develop, demonstrate, and maintain a high level of working knowledge of CPI products, services, and company policies, showing a desire and motivation for growth and learning.

  • Pursue all assigned opportunities and effectively solve related issues as needed, communicating with the customer in a timely manner.

  • Meet and/or exceed all customer requirements in addition to departmental metrics and margin targets.

  • Adhere to company and departmental policies with regards to attendance, daily schedules, and call handling expectations.

  • Understanding and knowledge of complex commercial terms, incoterms, and ability to support execution of contractual terms.

  • Maintain accurate records of all correspondence received and sent, including formal and informal quotations, internal memos, procedures, instructions, sales orders, technical data, etc.

  • Participate in project teams as assigned.

  • Contribute towards a positive work environment working cooperatively with other CPI departments, attending, and participating in meetings and other CPI functions.

  • Positively embrace and drive change.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • May be required to travel 5% of the time.

Your Education Should Be…

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. OR B.S.) is preferred from an accredited College or University

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is sometimes exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • 5 years’ experience in a related industry or manufacturing environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc,

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

  • Strong interpersonal skills, clear and concise communicator (both oral and written); good collaboration skills.

  • Ability to handle tense situations with tact.

  • Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with customers, employees, and reps.

  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic environment covering multiple inquiries simultaneously.

  • Systematic and analytical.

  • Persistent and used to working independently.

  • Ability to retain processes and suggest new ideas for improvement.

  • An understanding of the market, product/service offerings and/or customer base.

  • Strong technical understanding of rotating equipment, manufacturing methods and materials.

  • Experience with the Aftermarket side of selling highly engineered equipment and products.

  • Experience working with ERP, CRM and other supporting tools.

  • Comfortable and effective working in the “virtual world”.
