Position title: Senior HR Generalist

Location: Manchester area (Cheadle)

Reports to: HR Director

Contract type: Permanent, full-time, hybrid working system

Purpo se of Role

As Senior HR Generalist you will provide HR support, advise and guide Senior Managers and Employees with all aspects of the Employee Lifecyle, HR Policy and Procedures and Employee Relations, as well as support organisational change programmes and adhoc projects across the business. You will also be required to work as part of the wider HR team based at our Cheadle office.

Key Responsibilities

The following lists do not represent a complete list of all tasks that may be carried out-

Employee Relations

• Provide advice, support and coaching to your client group across all HR issues, including capability, policies, absence, disciplinary matters and local employment law.

• Effective case management of all ER issues including but not limited to absence, performance, disciplinary and grievances.

• On a day-to-day basis manage and develop methods to reduce issues within the business.

• Work with managers to ensure effective management of ER cases and ensure all local employment laws are adhered to.

• Coach managers in managing complex cases to raise capability in managing cases effectively.

HR Processes, Policies and Procedures

• Support the development of new streamlined robust ways of working in the HR team including development of new HR Policies and procedures, HR processes and supporting documents.

• Utilise the HR systems to full effect and ensure as a result accurate reporting is available.

• Champion HR systems and line manager engagement to drive the manager self-serving aspect so that managers are self-sufficient where possible.

• Support development of manager toolkits to support the self-serving agenda.

General

• Ensure you work with the local HR team and provide support to other areas as and when required at peak times, holiday and absence cover.

• Represent the HR team in both local and global projects, ensuring proactivity and delivery against requirements.

• Proactive in ensuring you are an active partner to the business areas you support and not an afterthought, you are responsible for driving this and not waiting for someone to ask for your help

Key Qualifications & Experience

• Ideally you will be qualified to CIPD Level 5 or be working towards this.

• Experience of working at a similar level within a fast paced private sector organisation(s) ideally FMCG

• HR generalist experience in terms of driving HR agenda

• Used to working with senior business leaders and senior functional managers

• Commercial awareness and desire to understand the business and be a true part of it not just a part of the HR function

• Experience of dealing with complex ER cases

• Excellent understanding of Employment Law and how to apply this
