The Marketing Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for applying data science principles and business analytics to drive marketing data analysis, inform marketing strategy and execution, and uncover new revenue and market share growth drivers. The role will oversee the entire data workflow, from data asset curation, integration, modeling, and visualization, to communication. Descriptive, predictive, causal, and prescriptive analytic techniques will be employed by this individual to deliver world-class decision support for the Americas Marketing and Commercial organization.

The position is part of the Analytics and Insight function within Cepheid’s Americas Marketing organization and will be located preferably in Santa Clara, California as a hybrid role. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain and develop data models and visualizations, provide insights to measure marketing performance, and identify trends, opportunities, and gaps in our existing marketing and sales efforts.

  • Develop sales and marketing dashboards that crisply communicate key performance indicators (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) while establishing data connectivity, and improving data quality.

  • Utilize complex programming and statistical analysis to extract and manipulate vast internal data and third-party vendor data generating insights and models that will boost customer targeting, retention performance, competitive opportunity probability assessment, and segment the market.

  • Take complex data issues, methodologies, and analysis results and communicate them to business partners, including senior management in a meaningful, actionable, and understandable way.

  • Participate in market research to glean market insights and serve as the lead go-to person for analytics and data science within the Americas Marketing organization.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in field with 5+ years of related work experience (Computer Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics/Statistics, or Marketing Analytics background) OR Master’s degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience

  • 5+ years of experience working with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)

  • Solid experience in relational databases/data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake) and query languages (PL/SQL, T-SQL) is required.

  • Robust knowledge of statistical analysis and statistical programming languages (R, Python, SAS, SPSS) is required.

  • Exposure to marketing metrics like campaign ROI, funnel management, retention analysis, CRM, Digital Marketing Analytics, and SEO (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Marketing Automation)

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • IVD or life sciences industry experience preferred (or other highly regulated environment)

  • Proven history of deployment of Machine Learning algorithms, or forecasting models including but not limited to OLS, CART, Random Forests, SVM, PCA, K-means, KNN, Logistic Regression, Naïve-Bayes

  • Exposure to Big Data techniques and languages (Hadoop, Pyspark, Hive, Pig), infrastructure, Data Warehousing, and Metadata management (including data governance)

The salary range for this role is $103,000 - $154,533. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
