Senior Process Engineer
KBR’s global business comprises two main segments – Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) and Government Solutions (GS). This role sits within STS in the Integrated Solutions business unit. Integrated Solutions is the engineering and project delivery group providing services which include front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, construction services, and program management primarily in the hydrocarbons and energy transition industries.
Job Responsibilities:
Working as part of a team under the supervision of principal process engineers to contribute to and assist in the production of the following:
Development of process simulations to produce heat and material balances,
Development of process and utility flow diagrams,
Development of piping and instrument diagrams,
Producing calculations for the design or rating of equipment and apparatus such as heat exchangers, vessels, reactors, etc. and to develop system design parameters.
Preparing process hydraulic calculations for pump and line sizing
Specifying piping and instrument data to support downstream disciplines.
Developing concepts from client specifications
Supporting and producing technical and techno-economic studies
May also be responsible for the development of advanced controls/process optimisation.
Skills / Experience:
Essential
Preparing equipment sizing calculations and have experience specifying equipment.
Understanding of relief valve sizing cases and preparation of calculations.
Experience of participating or scribing for a safety review (HazOp/SIL/LOPA)
Experience of developing hydraulic calculations for complex circuits.
Experience within working in a multi-discipline team and across different offices.
Self-motivated and good communication skills to enable effective team working.
Flexibility to work across a number of different technologies.
Desirable
Ability to build simulation models in Hysys/Promax or similar simulation tool.
Understanding of vessel and exchanger specification and sizing.
Experience of working on conceptual studies.
Experience of writing technical reports.
Developing presentations and experience communicating with client team.
Experience using COMOS.
Essential Qualifications :
BSc degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
A relevant number of years working with a major EPC contractor or operator.
