environment. Stevens provides comprehensive services to adolescent males
who require the safety and consistency of our residential treatment
program. Stevens? private residential special education school serves
youth between the ages of 11 and 22 with a history of complex trauma and
behavioral problems. Stevens School offers teachers the opportunity to
make a difference in the lives of youth by formulating positive
relationships, providing education and academic supports, and bolstering
the social development and emotional wellbeing of youth within the
classroom. Stevens is seeking an educator who is looking for a
challenging, yet rewarding professional experience, and who is
passionate about providing education in a creative, individualized and
holistic manner. The ideal teacher is able to focus on youth?s academic
needs and support youths? goal of successful re-integration into
community life. The Special Education Teacher at Stevens Treatment
Programs instructs small classes of adolescents in a private residential
school setting. Class ratio is one teacher, one teacher assistant and no
more than nine students. The teacher provides instruction in Math and
Science or English and Language ArtsHistory. The Teacher is a member of
an interdisciplinary team providing integrated services to students. The
education program is year-round. Teachers receive vacation during school
breaks, as well as an extended summer vacation for those who qualify.
Mandatory Requirements: Massachusetts certification in Special Education
or willingness to become SPED certified through the MA Dept. of
Elementary & Secondary Education Compensation: Starting salary
\$56,000-\$72,000, based on qualifications/experience; +\$2,000 annual
if bi-lingual, fluent in Spanish; \$2000 SIGN ON BONUS! Benefits:
