JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY The Graphic Designer is responsible for development and execution of consumer facing creative designs for Vallarta Supermarkets. The position requires hands on creative development of marketing collateral materials, product packaging and digital assets and other communications materials as assigned. GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Complete the design of marketing materials for a broad range of projects that build the Vallarta brand, help promote in-store sales and drive customers to stores. Manage outside agency / vendor resources to complete projects on-time and within budget. Support the Merchandising and Operations team in developing communications that drive incremental sales and revenue. Responsible for project in-take (briefing), tracking and recap. Prepares visual presentations by designing art and copy layouts. Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval and makes agreed upon revisions. Work directly with the top-level management to create consistent branding across all mediums. Follow and maintain brand identity standards.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Sound working knowledge of In-Design software and other tools to design communication materials. Demonstrated graphic design skills in business to consumer environment (ideally retail) Ability to work on multiple projects with tight timelines but remain detail oriented. Ability to lead the organization on design but remain open to input and mandated changes. Solid written and verbal communications. Packaging Design - CPG, ideally food and beverage. Prep and revise files for production process and meet project deadlines. Heavy involvement with creating concepts for in-store designs, re-purposing of campaign assets, online campaigns, websites, social or mobile.

REQUIRED EDUCATON AND EXPERIENCE Degree in Graphic Design / Fine Arts or equivalent work experience Bilingual Spanish (fluent: read, write, and speak) fluency a plus, not required 2+ years experience in Graphic Design Proficiency in Adobe Suite

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Will be required to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. Some travel and overnight stays from time to time. May also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a non-exempt level position; Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (ON-SITE); schedule would be based on business necessity.

Third-Party Collection of Personal Information The Company may use third-party vendors, such as Snag-a-Job, to facilitate the application process for applicants. In this process, these third parties may collect an applicants personal information and provide it to us for employment decisions.
