Project Architect
The Project Architect provides day-to-day project leadership with a significant scope of
responsibility and independence of action related to architectural and/or interior architectural
design, general project problem solving, and team coordination. The Project Architect coordinates
with other disciplines within and outside of the firm. The Project Architect works on all phases of
projects, such as: client relationships, design, specifications, project team coordination,
construction documents, code analysis and consultant interaction.
Essential Function:
Gathers and prepares information regarding cost and time estimates, material
requirements, and completion times.
Identifies and monitors staffing requirements to meet established deadlines and budgets.
Coordinates the efforts of staff and applicable consultants to design and draw in increasing
detail.
Reviews, organizes, and assembles all necessary documentation and drawings throughout
the project and ensures an organized production flow.
Provides ongoing quality reviews throughout the project and coordinates milestone quality
reviews with team.
Performs construction administration including conformance to contract documents;
evaluates and monitors change requests.
Manages clarity of scope, concepts, relationships, drawings, specs, accuracy of
dimensions, clearances, tolerances, and overall coordination of drawings.
Monitor project scope to assure compliance with client directions, design intent, schedule
and budget.
Communicates and documents all architectural information involved with the project:
project team, client, staff, consultants, regulatory agencies, contractors, etc.
Represents the firm and participates in marketing activities to secure projects, including
proposals and client presentations. Coordinates appropriate media to illustrate design
concepts for client presentations.
Maintains a positive, professional rapport with the client to assure a continued relationship
for the company; provides client education, as required, throughout the project.
Coordinates integrative design discussions/charettes with consultants and internal project
team.
Help to control profit/loss on the project; monitors need and negotiates for additional fees
as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Registered Architect with a minimum of 15 years experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
Ability to lead multiple projects, from concept to construction, and small project teams in a
multi-discipline office is also required.
Ability to enter a project at any design phase. Leverage skill set to take others design and
move forward.
Ability to cost out projects/fee structures.
Ability to work on small projects efficiently and cost them accordingly.
Strong knowledge of building/facility codes and overall impact to design.
