SUNY Upstate Medical University Safe Patient Handling Team Leader in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The Safe Patient Handling Team Leader oversees Upstate's Safe Patient Handling Program for the inpatient and ambulatory settings. Responsible for tracking/trending root causes of falls and injuries as well as developing evidence-based action plans to improve outcomes in collaboration with the Safe Patient Handling Assistant and other leaders throughout Upstate. Responsible for developing strategic plans for the prevention and management of falls and injuries. Supervise the Safe Patient Handling Assistant in the development, coordination, facilitation, implementation, and evaluation of Upstate's Safe Patient Handling policies, procedures, guidelines, and education program. Serve as the overall educational resource/contact related to fall prevention & safe patient handling at Upstate.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed & registered Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist, degree required for licensure, and four years of experience to include one year in a leadership role required. CPR-BLS certification required at time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of Safe Patient Handling regulations and standards in addition to formal or informal teaching experience in an adult education setting preferred

Mon-Fri 8-4:30
