Amazon Cluster Operations Lead, TPE Infrastructure Operations in Taipei, Taiwan

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Key job responsibilities

· Lead a team of several functions to oversee the operations of critical facilities in multiple sites within a region

· Attainment of organizational performance goals and objectives relating to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency in support of our data center operations.

· Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.

· Accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals.

· Shape a strategic operations model to fit into future capacity growth

· Obsess over team learning and development, both from a technical/functional and soft skills (critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and adaptability) development perspective including mentoring and training.

· Write and deliver annual performance reviews to staff

· Develop, improve, and share operational best practices across the globe

· Hiring, managing, and developing the operations management team including data center managers and data center operations technicians.

· Planning and executing the Infrastructure Operations component of AWS data center build-outs, colocation build-outs, AWS data center expansions, and colocation expansions, including the network and server rack infrastructure to facilitate the daily operations.

· Experience in successful insourcing and/or outsourcing specific task balancing internal skillsets with frugality.

· Safety, security, and availability incident response, incident management, and incident resolution.

· Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in computer science or related engineering discipline OR equivalent experience managing technical operations or engineering teams.

• 8+ years of experience operating as a manager of managers.

• 10+ years of experience working with operations in computer technologies and/or critical facilities

• 12+ years management experience in an operations, critical infrastructure, manufacturing, production, or distribution environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Master degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.

• 5+ years experience in safety, security, or availability incident response, incident management, and incident resolution.

• Proven achievements in continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.

• 5+ years experience managing geographically dispersed teams

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with mission critical infrastructure

• Expertise in one or more continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.

• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.
