How will you make an impact in this role?

The successful candidate for this role will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge scalable intelligent solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy highly scalable and fault tolerant services, applications and models that drive innovation and enhance efficiency in customer servicing space. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer with expertise in Java, Python and Big data/RDBMS/NoSQL to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Be versatile and be able to collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams and cross functional technology groups to drive continuous delivery

  • Data Process Design and Coding: Design, code, and document data processes for broad-scale data access.

  • Maintain Data Integrity: Develop validation and monitoring processes for data compilations.

  • Efficient Data Source Development: Collaborate with teams to design resilient data sources for business needs.

  • Data Integration into Products: Incorporate data sources into user-facing features.

  • Cloud Technology Utilization: Leverage cloud platforms for data engineering solutions.

  • Utilize Big Data Technologies: Employ technologies like PySpark and Spark, Scala, Hive, SQL for data processing.

  • API Design and Management: Develop and maintain APIs for data access and manipulation.

  • ETL and Data Pipeline Development: Proficient in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, tools, and developing data pipelines.

  • CI/CD Implementation: Implement and manage Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes.

  • Data Center Process Optimization: Optimize data processes across data centers.

  • Data Governance Collaboration: Work with governance teams on data definition and mapping issues.

  • Banking Data Expertise: Utilize knowledge of banking data for relevant data engineering tasks.

  • Reporting Tools Expertise: Develop reports using various reporting tools.

  • Production Support Coordination: Coordinate and support data engineering solutions in a production environment.

  • Familiarity with Kafka: Experience with Kafka for real-time data processing and streaming.

  • Apply Development Best Practices: Implement best practices in code review and change management, including proficient use of GIT for version control.

  • in Agile Environments: Experience with Agile methodologies and practices.

  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Strong analytical skills to solve problems and troubleshoot issues.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree in Computer Science with 5 years of experience in Big Data Platform Proficiency: Skilled in working with Big Data platforms and Big Data lakes.

  • Proficient in SQL and Unix Shell Scripting: Skilled in SQL and Unix shell scripting.

  • Experience in developing, hosting solutions on Google Cloud Platform- Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery and Vertex AI and leveraging GCP services for specific feature implementations

  • Cloud Knowledge: Proficient in cloud computing technologies.

  • Proficient in Programming Languages: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, and others.

  • ETL and Data Pipeline Skills: Proficient in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools and data modelling.

  • Good knowledge and hands on experience in RDBMS and NoSQL databases such as Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Casandra

  • Basic AI/ML Skills: Fundamental understanding of AI/ML applications in data engineering.

  • Banking Data Knowledge: Familiarity with banking data structures and requirements.

  • Data Security and PII Awareness: Knowledge of data security practices and regulations, focusing on securely handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

  • Application Design with Security Focus: Experience in designing applications with emphasis on server procurement, installation, and integrating security aspects like encryption.

  • Application Architecture Knowledge: Expertise in designing and structuring applications.

  • Debugging Proficiency: Skilled in identifying and resolving software and system issues.

  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Ability to test, troubleshoot, and debug data processes.

  • Docker and Kubernetes Proficiency: Proficient with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.

  • SFT Proficiency: Skilled in Secure File Transfer (SFT) operations and its utilization in data management.

  • Ability to create scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions that meet business requirements.

  • American Express Experience Preferred: Prior experience with American Express systems is an advantage.

  • Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Collaborative Work Ethic: Ability to work effectively in team environments.
