Junior Level Distribution Engineer
Job Description
We're on the lookout for junior-level Distribution Engineers to join our exciting team in Florida. The selected candidates will be instrumental in supporting power distribution infrastructure upgrades and storm hardening projects across the state. The role entails performing engineering calculations and designing solutions for replacing deteriorated cables, transitioning overhead lines to underground, reconductoring existing distribution lines, and replacing ageing equipment. This includes structural analysis, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, fault currents, and coordination of protective devices. The ideal candidate will be involved in site visits, equipment inventory, design requirements specification, electric distribution designs, and preparation of project and job packages. Regular reviews of proposed construction plans and development of solutions for existing conductor and structural clearance violations will also be part of the job. Ensuring ISO compliance across projects is a crucial aspect of the role.

Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Riverview, Florida.
Work Environment
The role is primarily based in our Riverview office. However, we do offer flexibility in terms of working from home on occasions, once the individual is fully trained and proficient, which typically takes around 6 months. We have a vibrant 170-person power group located between Maitland and Tampa. Our Tampa office, a new 19,000 sqft space, is equipped with a foosball table and shuffleboard. It's a positive and engaging environment, helmed by a dynamic leader. Additionally, there is a possibility of moving to our new office in Clearwater after the first 6 months.
