Key job responsibilities
Strategic Design Leadership: Spearhead process design innovation that optimizes operational efficiency, and integrates new automation and technologies.
Process Integration and Optimization: Seamlessly blend operational package flow with physical site layouts, implementing data-driven solutions to enhance end-to-end processes from inbound receiving to outbound shipping.
Safety and Performance Enhancement: Design processes to prioritize employee safety and well-being while maximizing productivity, and establish key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Standardization: Lead multi-disciplinary teams from concept to implementation, bridging communication between Operations, Architecture, and Engineering, while developing and maintaining process design standards and best practices.
Innovation and Sustainability Focus: Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies for process applications while incorporating sustainable design principles to reduce environmental impact and align with company sustainability goals.
A day in the life
As a Senior Manager of Process Engineering, you blend strategic vision with practical problem-solving. Your morning might start on the fulfillment center floor, observing your latest designs in action and collaborating with operations teams. Later, you're reviewing 3D simulations of future facilities, working with architects and engineers to optimize space and flow. You lead workshops where cross-functional teams tackle complex logistics challenges that impact millions of customer orders. Whether on-site or collaborating virtually, you're constantly balancing immediate operational needs with long-term innovation, turning creative solutions into reality while improving experiences for both employees and customers.
Basic Qualifications
10+ years experience in engineering related field, process or material flow design roles
Ability to drive data analysis and performance metrics development and management
Degree in Engineering or Architecture, related fields
At least 5 years of leadership and management experience
Strong written and verbal communication
Demonstrable experience managing cross-functional and regional programs by influencing different stakeholders' groups at all levels
Experience managing large process improvement projects.
Logistics operations knowledge and experience
Demonstrated use of analytical skills to solve engineering problems.
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science or MBA
Senior Management experience influencing process design and operations within the logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or transportation industry.
Experience in developing and/or implementing Automation and Material Handling solutions.
Exposure to optimization solvers/tools, ability to mine data and present recommended solutions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $155,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $269,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
