Position Description

Primary Purpose: Responsibilities include assisting Manager Ops Terminal with all aspects of bulk handling operations; training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; resolving problems and responsible for safe and efficient movement of bulk cargoes operations.

Essential duties and responsibilities: • Supervise employees, assigning job tasks as necessary for the movement of bulk fertilizer and handling equipment and facilities. • Follows and enforces all rules and procedures established by Kinder Morgan for the safe and efficient operation of fertilizer handling equipment. • Observes for compliance of safety rules and procedures. • Assures that new employees are trained as necessary for tasks to be performed. • Job Postings – must create and follow through to completion on the hiring of employees. • Job Progression – KM has a job progression program for the advancement of the employees. It is your responsibility to manage this and to present it at company set times. • Understands and can communicate understanding to others of movement operations and bulk material handling operations. • Train and develop subordinates in unloading and loading operations. • requisitions and purchase material in compliance with Kinder Morgan’s purchase order and P-card procurement policy. • Interprets specifications, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product handling. • Has understanding and grasp of environmental impact of product handling operations, • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of operation crews, track department, or work crew. • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. • Maintains payroll and overtime documentation and works with the Admin. Assistant regarding employee time records and weekly timesheet issues.

Position Requirements

Education: GED; or two to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience / specific knowledge: • Must be able to understand the needs of the business unit(s) for which development work is being performed. • Must possess understanding of bulk handling operations/equipment. • Intermediate to advanced proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Office Suite general products. • Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes. • Ability to organize and prioritize daily work, including tracking and managing small projects and see projects to completion while maintaining strict confidentiality (as necessary) • Ability to work with a team, take direction from manager(s), high degree of attention to details, follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules. • Must possess and/or obtain a TWIC. • Ability to organize and prioritize daily work, including tracking and managing large projects, and see projects to completion while maintaining strict confidentiality (as necessary) Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
