ABM Industries Construction Operations Manager in Taylor, Texas

Overview

The Construction Operations Manager is responsible for direction and leadership of ABM construction operations for one of the most advanced semiconductor facilities in the World. The Construction Operations Manager (COM) is responsible for the direct oversight of ABM shift supervisors, lead workers and front-line employees supporting various scopes of work at a manufacturing facility currently under construction. The COM is further responsible for ensuring that productivity levels and customer service requirements are being met and that supervisor, leads and front-line employees are complying with all safety, quality and compliance standards established by the company, by our client and by regulatory authorities. This position reports directly to the Branch Manager.

Service Delivery:

  • Manage the delivery of facilities services to the portfolio in accordance with all agreed policies, procedures, and contract scope.

  • Manage team members at a management level to ensure the performance of their teams as well as maintenance and upkeep of the facilities and address issues or escalations.

  • Manage vendor performance ensuring services are delivered in accordance with the contract and to agreed standards.

  • Drive initiatives such as savings programs, benchmarking, best practices, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure all account level KPI/SLA targets are achieved.

  • Maintain adherence to all account governance processes

  • Leverages ABM systems to delivery innovation and best practices to provide improved services aligned with the account plan, goals, and objectives.

  • Advocates diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

  • Complies with client specific and ABM accounting/contracting practices, policies and procedures, including but not limited to ethics and business practice.

Client Relationships:

  • Provides superior client support and relationship management as evidenced by favorable KPI scores and client surveys, client contract compliance, ABM EHS program compliance and team safety performance.

  • Deliver an exceptional quality of service to the client, as reflected by client feedback.

Financial Management:

  • Manage the ABM Team in the annual client budgeting process, executing services within the agreed operating budget, and monthly reporting on budget performance.

  • Manage account invoice approval, purchasing card, expense processes in accordance with established processes and procedures.

  • Review and approve service partner contracts, support account sourcing initiatives, manage third party contractual spend.

  • Complies with client specific and ABM accounting/contracting practices, policies and procedures.

Leadership/Team Management:

  • Lead, manage, develop and supervise a professional, friendly, creative, energetic, and detail-oriented team of management level staff in the delivery of service excellence.

  • Provide excellent onboarding, training, and team building.

  • Actively support an environment of teamwork, co-operation, performance excellence and personal success

  • Participate in performance management and personal development planning for members of the team.

  • Act as an ambassador for ABM, adopting and maintaining the firm’s core values of Teamwork, Ethics and Excellence

  • Ensure team member compliance related to all assigned training (corporate and job function)

Requirements:

  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is a required

  • BA/BS degree or 10+ years of facilities experience in manufacturing, or industrial industries.

  • Superior client and customer relationship management skills.

  • Strategic thinker with strong implementation and change management understanding.

  • Understanding of service level agreements, contract documents and routine accounting methods.

  • Familiarity with and understanding of building systems (electrical/mechanical/FLS/etc.).

  • Ability to multitask and work without direct supervision.

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Strong organizational skills and collaborative management style needed.

  • Financial skills and budgeting/forecasting experience is a requirement.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills.

  • 5-10 years of operational experience in managing 50+ personnel

  • Previous operational experience working in an manufacturing facility strongly desired but not required

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends if needed.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals and handbooks.

  • Posses and utilize effective listening skills.

  • Basic understanding of computer software programs, including Microsoft Office

WORKING CONDITIONS

Conditions may require walking, stooping, climbing, pushing, pulling, heavy lifting (less than or equal to 45 pounds), bending, working in awkward positions handling equipment and materials. Employees will be required to wear protective clothing and/or respiratory equipment when conditions warrant.

In order to operate a vehicle at the customer’s site, employees must obtain an ABM drivers permit per the ABM Drivers Safety MVR registration program. This policy checks for a valid State ID along with citation background check, and those with high risk driving habits will need additional driver education in order to obtain the permit. Employees who operate company vehicles must consistently meet the requirements of the Facility Vehicle Safety Program.
