Fairleigh Dickinson University Coordinator for Campus Engagement and Special Projects in Teaneck, New Jersey

Job Summary:

The Coordinator for Campus Engagement and Special Projects is an integral member of the Student Affairs team and will contribute to student and campus life on the Metropolitan Campus. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, implementing campus-wide programming and events, Greek Life advising, and student leadership development. The Campus Life Coordinator, working closely with the Division of Student Affairs team, develops and implements necessary programs to promote an active campus life and foster positive inclusive communities; creates and supports leadership opportunities and activities for students; provides counseling, mediation, and support to students; assists with development of Knight’s Care food pantry; and completes general central office administrative duties. This is a live-in position that reports to the Director of Student Union and Campus Engagement.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Management, or related field preferred.

  2. A minimum of 1-2 years related student affairs experience including live-in supervisory residential life experience.

  3. Working knowledge of student development theory and practice.

  4. Strong communication skills and ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks.

  5. Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and administrators.

  6. Must be available to work non-standard hours as required, including evenings and weekends. Incumbents are required to live on campus.

  7. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
