Surface Transportation org is expanding and introducing new capabilities to our Fleet Management business that supports all Middle Mile assets (tractors, trailers, box trucks, hostlers). In this role you will deliver world class solutions while wearing many hats and working in a highly collaborative environment that is more startup than big company. This role will require strong leadership skills and interaction/influence with teams across Amazon to drive the development of our maintenance business.

The role involves day to day interaction with senior Amazon leaders as internal customers, understanding their needs and converting them into efficient business models. The role requires regular interactions with multiple teams and jointly working with them to meet both short term and long term business needs. This position is a multi-faceted role requiring the ability to balance strategy and execution.

Key job responsibilities

This Program Manager will be the Middle Mile Fleet Management (MMFM) team's Single-Threaded Leader owning data vision/strategy. You'll be the primary point of contact between multiple business units across the middle mile organization, consolidating business requirements into one unified Business Intelligence (BI) vision and roadmap, distinguishing between immediate needs and foundational requirements. You'll set vision around the tools needed to track, share, and deep dive KPIs that drive our business. You'll partner closely with our BI team to align on prioritization and goal setting, making informed trade-off decisions. When possible, you'll benchmark our approach against industry and internal partner standards.

A successful candidate will have exceptional verbal and written skills with the ability to work across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. In order to achieve business goals, it will be required to evaluate short term solutions against the long term vision to strike a balance between bias for action and think big. A successful candidate will have deep experience working with (or developing) asset management software, as well as having will have the ability to work in a highly ambiguous state and create order where it may be lacking.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
