Amazon Area Manager, Inbound Operations in Tepotzotlan, Mexico

  • Review the work forecasts and determine your requirements to produce during the day to meet the overall building goals.

  • Build and work through a high performance team.

  • Partner with other Area Managers to balance labor ensuring that you are operating a balanced and efficient shift while meeting all of your goals.

  • Support all safety programs and EHS compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates.

  • Identify and direct process improvement initiatives and effectively utilize AI and Lean tools.

Key job responsibilities

You and your team are responsible for getting Amazon customers their orders. You are responsible for ensuring that you have properly trained people, and that their needs are addressed so that they can focus on their jobs.

  • Lead your assigned team safely, taking particular care to enhancing safety measures within the workplace.

  • Lead your team with empathy, taking the time to engage all Associates and remove any barriers that they may have.

  • Lead coaching of your team (including quality and productivity) to deliver results for our customers.

  • Lead standard work adherence for your team and ensure benchmark standards are applied.

A day in the life

You’ll lead shifts at one of our operational sites. You’ll also be the key link between a number of teams, including finance, safety and operations integration teams. That means you’ll be close to the day-to-day operations at your site but also contribute to new ways to innovate at your site.

A typical day will involve meetings with different areas of the business, deep diving into performance and risk metrics for a department, and looking ahead to prepare for different levels of demand. Every day will also involve mentoring and coaching your team. You’ll be a source of leadership and support your team to be the best managers they can be.

Tepotzotlan, MEX, MEX

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 3+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience

  • English: Fluent

  • +4 Years of Experience (Operations and Direct management experience for employees and their performance

  • Experience with performance metrics and process improvement (how, when, why)

  • Candidates are flexible to work nights/days/weekends in shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fortune 500 company

  • Masters Degree in Quality, Operations or Administration

  • Management of a minimum 20 employees (including payroll, performance management, work-flow assignment)

  • Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple roles/locations.
