We are looking for an Enterprise Resource Planning Business Analyst to work with our Information Technology department. This employee designs, develops, and implements new or enhanced business processes in support of new or enhanced information systems and technology. Provides business expertise in support of business process changes for information systems projects. Identifies opportunities for business process improvement and initiates projects to make improvements with or without deploying information technology. Leads one or more teams focused on implementing specific PeopleSoft modules and related functionality.

This person supports the student financials module in a software called Campus Solutions. The ideal candidate would have experience supporting student information systems, be proficient in TOAD, SQL queries and development of criteria/fee equations. The candidate should be a problem solver who can analyze complex issues and initiate viable solutions. Technical writing skills are required to enter requests for system changes and fixes and develop business process protocols for staff. This position will give the candidate the opportunity to assist in the development of new business processes and testing of module upgrades. You will be involved in assisting students and staff to resolve account errors.

This is a full-time role that is classified as exempt. It is eligible for all UTHealth benefits, including excellent healthcare options and participation in a retirement plan run by the State of Texas. You will be working in the University Center Tower in the heart of the Texas Medical Center. It could end up working a hybrid or remote schedule as you progress in handling issues and dealing with tech.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  1. Analyzes current business processes, suggests improvements, and participates in the design of new business processes and systems.

  2. Conducts business systems analysis and design, data modeling, process flow modeling, and process reengineering. Analyzes business processes and reviews existing information systems. Interviews users. Analyzes process flows and identifies opportunities for improvement. Maps existing business processes. Documents existing business processes and business rules.

  3. Prepares business cases, including cost/benefit analysis for proposed processes.

  4. Leads and participates in teams implementing various PeopleSoft modules and related business processes.

  5. Participates in the design of new systems that support business processes. Designs and implements new or improved business processes. Reviews new systems designs and functions. Compares differences between existing systems and new systems. Design system modifications. Designs interfaces to other systems. Identifies data, interfaces, and test requirements. Designs and executes systems tests and acceptance test scripts and procedures. Helps to ensure referential integrity of the data model.

  6. Develops reports and documents for existing business processes and business rules. Identifies reporting requirements.

  7. Develop organizational changes and implementation plans. Analyzes training and organizational changes. Design training materials. Trains users in new procedures and systems.

  8. Communicates with clients and co-workers via oral and written communications, including presentations. Adheres to policies and procedures. Works as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Provides post-implementation support. Conducts post-implementation review and document goal attainment. Communicates project status and objectives. Communicates with project team and constituencies. Develops and leads communications as part of system implementation efforts.

  9. Performs other duties as assigned

Certification/Skills:

Prefer CPA and/or other business-related certifications

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Management Information Systems, Accounting, business or related field or related experience in lieu of education

Minimum Experience:

Five (5) years of experience, which includes one year of experience with ERP systems such as PS, SAP, BAAN, I2, Lawson, or JD Edwards and relational database concepts, performing the duties described above with business processes (e.g., Accounting, Payroll, Personnel, A/P, A/R, etc.) similar to UTHealth but not necessarily in an academic or State agency environment.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
