Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive
provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical
Assistant in Thornton.

Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient
care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and
patient care, i.e. exams, and procedures. Performs clinic support tasks
including miscellaneous clerical tasks, answering phones, and maintaining
physician's schedule. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance
Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Salary Range: $18.29-$24.00
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work
experience, certification, etc. As of the date of this posting, in
addition to your salary, RMCC offers the following benefits for this

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physicians prior to
treatment or procedures.
-Assists with electronic patient chart preparation via obtaining external
records, notes, and exams and overall ensuring the patient's chart is
prepared for their office visit
-Notifies patients of results within the MA scope of practice as requested by
the provider
-Responds to patients' calls
-Performs other administrative duties, i.e. typing, scanning and attaching
documents to a patient's chart, faxing orders, etc., as requested by
supervisor or physician.
-Alerts nurse/physician of abnormal vitals or any important information
given by patient.
-Collection of inbound meaningful use data. Flu documentation, smoking
status, initial height and weight, etc.
-Assist with the preparation of chemotherapy patient education patients
packets
-Prints med list for patient to review.
-Fill out disability and FMLA forms.
-Schedule blood transfusions for patients
-Assist with the online ordering of special genetic testing (Oncotype
Myriad, Caris, Guardant, etc).
-May enter orders under a provider's direction and supervision.
-Option to work remotely one day per week after the first 90 days of
employment if deemed appropriate by supervisor
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent. Certificate of graduation from an
accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred. Minimum three years
experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
Some state regulations may require specific certifications in order to work as
a Medical Assistant.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be

motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger
dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for
extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to
40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
