Shire Manufacturing Supervisor in Thousand Oaks, California

The operations supervisor position is responsible for supervision of all activities for the department specialists and manufacturing warehouse area to ensure manufacturing goals and project deadlines are met while maintaining compliance with current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs), good documentation practices (GDPs) and any other regulations that could apply. This position shall be responsible for the execution of activities as they relate to operations of the department specialist group. Promotes, develops, and evaluates employee’s performance. May monitor and control labor and capital expenditures. Recommends manufacturing policies, procedures and programs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day to day operations of the department specialists activities, including supervision of inventory control, scheduling, staffing, material management, material cycle counts, change control, compliance, training, and auditing activities for area of responsibility

  • Develop and manage performance of direct reports

  • Resolve technical, material, and cGMP issues

  • Manage documentation control

  • Manage material cycle counts

  • Interact and coordinate with other departments.

  • May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must have excellent technical writing, verbal communication skills, the ability to effectively troubleshoot, investigate and analyze inventory discrepancies.

  • The incumbent must possess a thorough understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

  • Good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.

  • Understands the flow and design/inter dependency of manufacturing support departments

  • Basic scientific understanding of microbiology, chemistry, and sterility as it applies to the manufacturing process

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree plus 5 years of manufacturing experience. Minimum of 0-2 years of leadership experience. Scientific or engineering degree preferred.
