Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Communication and Public Affairs Leader to join our dynamic team in Titusville, NJ.

POSITION SUMMARY

Lead the Communication & Public affairs strategies for the US Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) business, including UPTRAVI®, OPSUMIT®, and OPSYNVI® in addition to leading launch readiness plans and communications for investigational therapies in Retina / Specialty Ophthalmology. Maintain an active role on the PH and Retina Leadership Teams while providing day-to-day counsel to the U.S. President of PH and Retina.

This role manages the following direct reports: the Senior Manager, Product Communications for PH, Senior Manager, Product Communications for Retina, and a full-time consultant.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to support the US Pulmonary Hypertension and Retina business units.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative and impactful communication campaigns.

  • Develop and nurture connections with important individuals and groups, both within the organization and beyond, such as different teams, external collaborators, and media platforms.

  • Drive flawless execution of communication plans to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.

  • Monitor and analyze communication efforts to measure effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

  • Stay informed about current industry trends and effective communication strategies to consistently improve communication strategies.

  • Lead crisis communication efforts, providing timely and accurate information during challenging situations.

  • Oversee budgets and resources to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of communication initiatives.

  • Lead, develop and inspire direct reports

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience managing communication in a company, NGO, government agency or public relations agency

  • Proven track record of successful public relations/communications, corporate communications, product communications, public affairs, and/or media relations achievements

  • Demonstrated ability to develop successful partnerships and influence with senior executives

  • Demonstrated ability to craft compelling stories, with superior written, oral and visual communication abilities

  • Experience dealing with national and local lay, professional/trade and social media

  • High degree of independent judgment

Preferred:

  • Experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industries

  • Experience in crisis/issues management

  • Experience in the cardiovascular, pulmonary or rare disease space

  • Deep understanding of digital and social platforms

  • Demonstrated analytic ability

  • Experience in managing budgets and schedules

  • Ability to maintain perspective and bring positive attitude and courage to partnership discussions

  • Professional maturity and ability to work effectively across levels, functions, regions, and backgrounds

Salary:

The base pay range for this position is $137,000 - $244,950 USD

Bonus:

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
