Intel HPC Solution Architect in Tokyo, Japan

Job Description

​The primary responsibility for this position will be to act as the primary Technical Owner on the major HPC Projects, working in tight collaboration with Account Executive(s) and BU Category team(s) to Influence and secure technical win at the major HPC customers in the region.

The successful candidate will also be in charge of:

  • Developing technical collaborations with his/her customers in order to demonstrate the benefits of the Intel technologies within customer's own environment and/or with customer's own workloads / software algorithms.

  • Providing regularly long range guidance and visibility over future HPC-related Intel Products/Technologies to the customers in order to influence the RFPs and allow the customers to align their deployments to our product cycles.

  • Delivering hands-on workshops or seminars to provide the necessary positioning and demonstration of the benefits of Intel technologies to the wider community.

  • Leading the account teams, the customers and co-ordinate with HQ subject matter experts to perform various benchmarking, technology evaluation and performance optimizations in various scales of HPC architecture.

  • Establishing a collaborative working relationship with Senior Architects and Engineers from our Business Units and our Industry partners.

  • While the focus is on HPC, it is necessary to develop know-hows / best practices how Cloud and AI usages are merged / co-exist with various HPC workloads.

  • Provides technical expertise to Intel sales teams, external partners, and end customers.

  • Acts as a key advisor and thought leader to the technical sales teams, while driving vision, value, and strategy around technical solutions.

  • Understands the business use case and technical merits of a solution, co-owns relationships with customer/partner decisionmakers to solve complex challenges across system(s) and influences the customers purchasing decision for specific accounts.

  • Supports Intel sales professionals, including those in technical sales roles, in design and deal win engagements by delivering Intel platform and portfolio value propositions and providing ongoing technical support on product briefings.

  • Understands competitive landscape to deliver use case based benchmarks and drive customer driven technical incubations.

  • Supports customer design win needs and facilitates product and program updates.

  • Liaises with BUs to relay roadmap, product, program and technical updates to field sales and external partner teams.

  • Plans and implements training roadmap, assets, schedule, availability, and delivery.

  • Articulates the voice of customer back to product development teams to help define platform enabling, roadmap, program, samples, and other enabling requirements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor degree (or equivalent) preferably in Computer Science or Engineering.

  • Minimum 8 years or equivalent of relevant work experience in code tuning and software optimization for High Performance Computing.

  • Familiarity with the setup/deployment of Linux based HPC Clusters, common performance benchmarks and HPC workloads in selected domains.

  • Software Development Experience (C/C++, Fortran, MPI Libraries) and Code Profiling (vTune).

  • Knowledge on commonly used hardware technologies in compute, accelerators, storage and networking in HPC.

  • Good presentation and communication skills.

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience on commonly used HPC development and optimization tools, job schedulers and software libraries.

  • Fluency in Japanese and English languages.

  • Occasional Travel in Asia or in the USA may also be required.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Master Degree or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering (equivalent professional experience will also be accepted).

  • Some exposure/familiarity with Machine Learning, Deep Learning Frameworks and Generative AI Modelling will be a plus.

Working Model
