Job Summary

The IT Business Partner, Japan will partner and align with the President, Japan and the Japan Leadership Team (JLT) to direct the IT organization across Japan.

Reporting to the Head, IT, APAC and Japan, he/she will be the single point of contact for all IT responsibilities in Japan.

He/she will be an active member of the JLT and collaborate on all key business and functional initiatives. He/she will contribute to the overall strategic direction of the Japan region.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the consolidated budget for the region and ensure resources are used in an optimal manner and agreed expenditure budgets are not exceeded.

  • Set and assess performance management objectives for direct reports and oversee this process for the team.

  • Take responsibility for effective leadership, management, coaching and counselling of the team and to be responsible for training needs analysis and personal development of direct reports.

  • Develop service level agreements with all business partners and deliver upon them through process and organizational re-engineering create excess capacity to focus on service delivery.

  • Create a strong link between the Local / Regional and the Global Teams.

  • Actively engage with Global IT on Global initiatives and manage the local deployment.

  • Ensure all appropriate risk and security measures are taken for local application compliance.

Essention Skills and Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience, including systems analysis, design and implementation.

  • Work experience in roles such as IT Business Partner roles, Commercial IT, Commercial Reporting and Digital Marketing desirable.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

  • A degree of travel may be required.
