Job Description

Specific Responsibilities

We are seeking a member of supply chain management (Senior Manager) for Gilead Sciences Japan, reporting to the Trade Operations Japan Director.

This position will be responsible to execute end-to-end supply chain network of Gilead Sciences Japan (GSJ) products from all applicable manufacturing facilities to local CMO packaging planning and to manage some aspects of 3PL operations.

We are seeking a candidate with a solid experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, and/or primary/secondary packaging, demonstrating an excellent interpersonal skill to collaborate well with internal/external stakeholders to drive various projects forward. We also expect that the candidate to be an agile learner with an advanced level of English (Written and oral)

This position is open as successor to fulfill the planned vacancy of an internal rotation. A training will be given directly from the predecessor and the team.:

Essential Functions:

This position will be responsible for, but not limited to the following activities:

  • Plan and execute the supply of Gilead products including product imports and CMO production

  • Lead cross-functional projects such as new product introduction and package changes. Develop the master schedule, track activities, and host meetings with various stakeholders (e.g. QA, CMC, Engineering, Marketing, vendors) in Japanese and English

  • Assist Package Engineer, based in US, to develop change controls and package specifications.

  • Develop package design, propose it to stakeholders and obtain approvals

  • Manage IT projects. Gilead is transitioning to SAP and the person will be part of the project team to roll out the system to the market

  • Based on business requests, summarize and propose country-specific packaging changes to the counterparts (approvers) in US

  • Maintain and update SOPs and work instructions

  • Oversee the manufacturing-related cost

  • Gather and report data for internal and external inquiries

  • Participate in seminars, trainings, or other opportunities

  • 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical (or similar) manufacturing and/or supply chain

  • Solid knowledge on pharmaceutical affairs law (PMD Act), GMP/GDP and industry guidelines is strong plus

  • Experience in CMOs/3PL management

  • Working knowledge on primary and secondary packaging engineering in pharmaceutical industry is strong plus.

  • Advanced skills of software such as Excel/Word/Power point/Illustrator and other tracking tools.

  • Able to develop solutions to a wide range of complex problems, which require the regular use of integrity, ingenuity, and innovation.

  • Knowledge/qualification of Six-Sigma is a plus.

  • Strong leadership skills with good teamwork.

  • Strong interpersonal/communication/problem solving skills. Able to understand and communicate scientific and business elements to multiple internal audiences.

  • Strong verbal/written English skills to communicate/negotiate with overseas counterparts.

  • Strong entrepreneurship by challenging status quos for enterprise improvement by focusing on customer/patient at the same time, and enjoy dynamic business environment.

  • BS or MS degree or above

ポジションの主な担当責任業務は以下です

  • 製品輸入やCMO生産を含むギリアド製品の供給を計画・実行する。

  • 新製品導入やパッケージ変更など、部門横断的なプロジェクトをリードする。マスタースケジュールの作成、アクション等のチェックポイントの追跡、様々なステークホルダー(QA、CMC、エンジニアリング、マーケティング、ベンダーなど)とのミーティングを日本語と英語でFacilitateする

  • US本社等のパッケージエンジニアなどを補助し、変更管理及びパッケージ仕様の開発を行う

  • パッケージデザインを開発し、関係者に提案、承認を得る

  • IT関連プロジェクトの管理。ギリアド社はSAPへの移行を進めており、そのシステムを日本に展開するプロジェクトチームの一員となる

  • 事業Planに基づき、日本特有のパッケージ変更をまとめ、米国本社のCounterpartsに提案する

  • SOPおよび作業指示書の維持・更新

  • 製造関連コストの管理

  • 社内外の問い合わせに対応するデータ収集や報告

  • セミナー、研修、その他の機会に参加する

  • 医薬品(または類似する業界)の製造および/またはサプライチェーンにおける5年以上の経験

  • 薬事法(PMD法)、GMP/GPD、業界ガイドラインにかんする 知識があれば、尚可

  • CMO/3PLの管理経験

  • 製薬業界における一次/二次包装技術に関する実務知識があれば尚可

  • Excel/Word/Power Point/Illustrator等のソフトウェアやその他のトラッキングツールの高度なスキル
