We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual for our switching operation inside PBF's Toledo, Ohio refinery.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Work as a team to move railcars throughout the refinery, acting as a switchman, groundsman, or locomotive operator
Communicate with other train crew members and other invested parties, by radio, signals, or by other means to aid in the movement and operation of trains
Understand critical service requirements and see they are met
Take an active role in the safety program including attendance at all safety meetings and ensuring safe behaviors of self and coworkers
Complete paperwork accurately
General Maintenance ("bolt on –bolt off")
Cleaning / Housekeeping
Ensure procedures and policies are followed
Requirements to Be Successful in This Position:
Experience operating a locomotive (1+ years) preferred
Understands, or a willingness to learn, railroad operations and safety
Ability to plan and adjust at times to meet each customer's unique needs and to maximize effectiveness
Positive attitude and good team member
Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen and background check. Qualifies for access to the refinery
Work independently with minimal supervision
Work outdoors in all weather conditions: wind, snow, rain, heat
Must be able to handle the physical aspects of the position: lift 50 lbs., swing a 10 lb. sledgehammer, walk several miles a day, climb, stoop, crawl, and work on elevated surfaces
Handle problems as they arise and initiate steps to resolution
Commit to Safe work practices
Preferred Education/Experience:
1+ year experience operating a locomotive preferred
A high school diploma, or equivalent
Current/valid driver license
Work experience in an industrial environment preferred
