Aston Carter Buyer in Tolland, Connecticut
- We are seeking a Buyer to purchase sheet metal and machine components. 95% of their suppliers are repeat customers, but candidates still need to be able to source new vendors. They will also be responsible for administrative work within the Logistics Dept.
This position is responsible for commodity procurement activity to support company production and aftermarket business globally including purchase order processing, delivery expediting, resolution of supplier quality issues and supplier relationship management.
Procurement of raw materials, component parts and finished goods to support aftermarket and spares requirements.
Maintain integrity of purchase order database through timely updates to delivery dates and quantities.
Maintain all Purchasing master data in SAP on an on-going basis, ensuring accurate information and reporting capability.
Run reports in SAP to manage open orders, past due orders, exception reports (push ins/outs).
Participate in vendor qualification and approval process.
Work with the Quality Team to identify and resolve supplier quality issues.
Maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external suppliers and customers and report key metrics to both suppliers and management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field
Minimum of five years’ experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain Management in an MRP based manufacturing environment, with a global supply and customer base
Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Access are required
Pay: up to $75K yearly
Hours & Days: M-F (40 hours full-time)
