Volt is immediately hiring for a Lead Overhead Crane Service
Technician in Nashville, TN to work with the world\'s largest lifting
business. Are you skilled electrically and mechanically? Are you able to
work at extreme heights? Our client has an opportunity in the Nashville
area that we are looking to help them fill with mechanically inclined
individuals. Their technicians work in a safety-first type of
environment and don\'t mind heights or working on mechanical parts.
As the Lead Overhead Crane Service Technician, you will
supervise Field Operatives, which include tehcnicans and inspectors,
reinforcing safety and quality control, conducting spot audits and
assist in the customer consultation process in remote locations without
a local Service Manager or Branch Operations Manager.
This is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Conduct Observation Based Safety Checks.
- Perform vehicle safety and satellite shop inspections, where
facilities exist.
- Ensure PACE driving habits are being used by all drivers.
- Participate in safety related investigations.
- Work closely with Inside Sales team by forwarding sales leads,
collect needed information for repair quotes, including verifying
accurate and complete information from field operatives.
- Conduct and document weekly team meetings (Toolbox Talks).
- Provide technical support, mentorship, and direction to Field
Operatives.
- Serve as Project Manager on larger projects.
- Assists in training & evaluation of Field Operatives
- Receive and screen calls from all Field Operatives and Inspectors.
- Relay information needed to the planning team for scheduling,
maintenance or logistics.
- Resolve complex technical problems.
- Stage, organize and verify equipment and parts for jobs, where
needed.
- Complete customer visits within the territory to collect information
needed for projects, quotes for jobs & service requests.
- Perform field work including but not limited to; repairs,
inspections, on-call work, troubleshooting, project management,
installations, and warranty work.
- Assist Field Operations Manager, as needed with customers or people
needs.
Education: Associate degree in Industrial Electrical/Mechanical
Technology or related field or equivalent vocational/technical training
and experience.
Experience:
- Minimum one (1) year experience involving electrical troubleshooting
and mechanical repair.
- Some electronic experience preferred but not necessary.
- Experience working with overhead cranes.
- Previous supervisory experience.
Other Requirements: Must have and maintain a good driving record,
including a valid driver\'s license. Must be willing to work off the
ground. Can work varied overtime, as needed by customer, be available
for \"on call\" as part of the service office rotation and be able to
travel and work out of town, on occasion.
Must be able to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to lift up to
50 lbs. on a daily basis. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. although
not on a daily basis. Must be able to lift 100 lbs. on a rare basis.
This position requires frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching,
and overhead reaching. This position requires occasional pushing,
pulling, kneeling, and crawling. You will be inside approximately 90% of
the time and outside approximately 10% of the time. You will be
frequently exposed to heat, cold, noise and heights.
Salary: \$22.00 - \$40.00 per hour *Pay range offered to a
successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the
candidate\'s education, work experience, work location, specific job
duties, certifica ions, etc.
