JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), the Managing Director of Portfolio Strategy & Investment Risk is responsible for the management and oversight of the risk exposures in OPG’s Pension Fund and co-management and oversight of the Ontario Nuclear Funds, recommending and advising on the Fund’s optimal asset and risk allocation necessary to achieve the Funds’ objectives.

The Managing Director, Portfolio Strategy & Investment Risk is responsible for advising on risk management and risk reporting to the senior leadership team including the CIO, Investment Committee, Investment Funds Risk Oversight Committee, and the Board of Directors. They will be a key contributor to the development and execution of OPG’s strategic asset allocation decisions, asset/liability management strategies, and its alternative asset investment strategy and will work closely with external service providers, overseeing many of their contractual deliverables.

As the ideal candidate, you have demonstrated success in a leadership role driving performance and leading in a dynamic environment. You have a strong understanding of capital markets and leading portfolio management practices, and the ability to quickly establish credibility, confidence and trust both internally and with external partners. You generate ideas to solve problems, take advantage of opportunities, and execute those ideas with excellence in collaboration with others. Your strong verbal and written communication skills enable you to relate complex concepts to key stakeholders across the organization effectively.
