NDC (New Distribution Capability) is an industry initiative focused on modernizing distribution technology and enabling airline Retailing. NDC is a strategic priority for Sabre and an area of growth for the industry.
The NDC Program Manager is part of the Travel Solutions NDC distribution product team responsible for formulating project plans & driving the execution of tasks across various components within our program such as; Customer (internal & external) enablement, Capability release notifications, Customer activation processes & new Airline Implementations.
This position is the “Gateway” into Sabre’s echo system of possibilities, which is designed to expand our customers reach around the world, by offering high availability services on a stable, scalable and proven/trusted platform.
A successful candidate will be able to build positive relationships with internal & external partners / stakeholders. You will be the first point of contact, ensuring that partners & stakeholders remain aligned with program objectives by managing expectations around timelines for deliverables and product capabilities.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to communicate well, be exceptionally well organized and multi-task under tight deadlines. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Sabre NDC distribution product team, which is comprised of a select and highly skilled group of individuals, charged with the execution of a core corporate imperative at the heart of the Sabre echo system, to develop Sabre’s next generation of retailing, distribution, and fulfillment enabled services, based on IATA New Distribution Capability (NDC).
What will you achieve?
This role is responsible for planning and overseeing projects & airline implementations via Sabre’s NDC capabilities, to ensure they are completed when expected and within budget. Project managers plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep internal and external stakeholders informed throughout the process .
Role and Responsibilities:
Determine and define project scope and objectives
Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
Track project costs to meet budget
Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
Provide project updates, analysis and reports on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
Monitor progress and adjust as needed using preferred methodology
Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
Adopt and refine the NDC operating model ensuring reliable and predictable outcomes
Manage and drive the NDC customer pipeline, including new opportunities and RFP management
Ability to present Sabre NDC high level solution to target customers and internal stakeholders
Work closely with Marketing on Go-To-Market “story” as it relates to the NDC Roadmap and all supporting activities required to coordinate and drive roll-out.
Coordinate closely with agencies and airlines throughout implementations
Manage and prepares Executives and Leadership presentations around Roadmap and Investment planning and forecast
Co-ordinate customer engagement implementation analysis and formulate project plans associated to the outcome
Identify initial solution requirements through discovery sessions with customers
Drive multiple concurrent projects from initial customer engagement through to implementation and business as usual state
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Minimum 8-10 years of relevant work experience
Degree in relevant field
Impeccable oral and written communication skills, with the ability to creatively tell stories and adjust tone and style based on communication channel
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
Proven ability to solve problems creatively
Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
