About Us: Join one of Canada’s leading financial institutions, renowned for its commitment to excellence and innovation. We are seeking a highly skilled Sanctions Specialist with a legal background to join our dynamic team on a contract basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough investigations and analysis of transactions to ensure compliance with international sanctions regulations.
Provide expert legal advice on sanctions-related matters to various business units.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate sanctions risks.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address sanctions compliance issues.
Stay updated on changes in sanctions laws and regulations and ensure the bank’s compliance framework is current.
Prepare and present reports on sanctions compliance to management.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sanctions compliance, preferably within the financial services sector.
Strong understanding of international sanctions laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in legal research and writing.
