The Senior Manager is responsible for leading Bank-wide Corporate Functions Sourcing and Vendor Management activities while working closely with senior business unit leadership and other sourcing leaders. The Senior Manager will collaborate with senior business unit leadership and sourcing leaders in pursuit of improvements in quality, innovation, and service levels. The Senior Manager will have the opportunity to improve upon current processes with a goal of centralizing and consolidating company-wide supplier selection. By contributing to a competitive marketplace, the Senior Manager will consistently drive reductions in the total cost of goods and services procured.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Develop relationships with Business leaders to support enterprise objectives, influence key stakeholders and jointly develop strategic sourcing and vendor management strategies while collaborating on initiatives and projects

  • Collaborate with Global procurement team, Business Units and Operations leaders to fully understand key business drivers, spend drivers, market landscape, key suppliers and required support levels to develop category management strategies

  • Lead business value through the development of high quality and cost-effective supply relationships, while pursuing and championing total cost of ownership (TCO) savings directly by savings captured through leveraging Bank-wide purchasing volume, strategic supplier relationships, demand management or indirect savings realized by driving innovation and or enhancing the overall effectiveness of the supply management process

  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct

  • Lead Top-to-Top Supplier Meetings for enterprise suppliers

  • Contribute to a disciplined effort to influence spend and drive cost savings across all business segments

  • Support consistent application of procurement policy and processes

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, engineering, business, or related field is preferred

  • Ability to bridge communications between Sourcing, business units, third-party risk management and legal with a focus on developing an understanding of how to structure contracts to deliver against bank’s needs

  • Excellent change-leadership and conflict resolution management as well as advanced problem-solving skills

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and comfort in speaking with senior leaders at the Bank

  • Knowledgeable in financial services and regulations (e.g., OSFI, OCC, CFPB, UDAAP) and how they are applied to Third Party relationships is preferred

  • In addition to English, fluency in Spanish and/or French is an asset

  • Minimum 5-10 years of progressive sourcing and vendor management experience
