[Laundry Aide [Job Description*

[POSITION: Laundry Aide STATUS: Nonexempt

[Position Summary:

[Performs necessary functions for the upkeep and maintenance of residents clothing.

  1. Loads and unloads washers and dryers.

``` 2. Sort, wash, dry, fold and iron linens and residents' clothing.

``` 3. Operates ironers, folders and presses as required.

``` 4. Discards linens and maintains records.

``` 5. Keep manager informed of linen needs.

``` 6. Deliver clean linen and residents' clothing to rooms; stock linen closets and carts for nursing units and return linen barrels to the laundry.

``` 7. Discard stained, torn or otherwise unacceptable linen.

``` 8. Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary work area.

```{=html}

``` 9. Perform equipment cleaning such as removing detergent build-up in washers and cleaning lint traps in dryers.

``` 10. Assist residents with feeding of meals if necessary.

``` 11. Put resident names on boards an erase when discharged.

``` 12. Perform other duties as assigned.

[3. Performs work in an efficient, accurate and timely manner.

[4. As an effective member of the facility staff team, fosters cooperation and teamwork.

[5. Abides by all facility rules and regulations.

[6. Is respectful of the rights of all residents and provide services which will keep residents free [ from mistreatment.

[7. Notifies supervisor of questionable resident care or mistreatment.

[8. Keeps resident, facility, professional and personal matters confidential (includes own salary).

[9. Is able to work outside of normal working hours as necessary.
