About the role This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, managing, and executing successful software projects. Responsibilities Manage engineering projects to deliver finished products/features by scheduled dates. Define, execute, and manage software design schedules and tasks throughout project. Write, review, and amend technical specifications for products/features as needed. Support software design as outlined in the specification with safety, quality, functionality, and cost objectives in focus. Identify and manage project risks. Work with Leviton factories for transition to manufacturing and release of new products/features. Inform upper management on a regular basis on the status of assigned projects and activities. Ensure Leviton ISO 9000 standards and policies are adhered to. Review and recommend change to all systems, policies, and procedures as needed to enhance the mission of the organization. Qualifications Must have a deep understanding of software development methodologies and tools. Must have strong project management skills. Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and having the ability to navigate ambiguous situations. Ability to exercise independent judgment with minimal instructions and guidance. Ability to understand and apply FEA, FMEA and customer input to product design and development. Solid understanding of Agile, Scrum and Kanban development methodologies. Proficiency with MS Project or other scheduling software required. Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or closely related engineering field required 8 plus years of experience in software development. 3 plus years of experience in a leadership role within a software development team. Previous experience in an engineering mentorship or supervisory position a plus. Demonstrated track record of delivering challenging projects on time while satisfying quality and performance needs. Demonstrated ability to work with remote teams to deliver products and/or services. Demonstrated record of managing medium sized, complex Software engineering programs in a multi-functional matrix environment. Knowledge of operating system internals, embedded system development and bring-up, device drivers, and memory management.
