Raytheon Tucson is searching for an enthusiastic, talented professional who is seeking a results-driven profession to drive a continuous improvement culture. The successful Value Stream Manager (VSM) candidate will report to a Factory Manager and be responsible for the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives through coaching and teaching leaders across the factory. This candidate will be influencing and collaborating with key support staff personnel and other Mission Area stakeholders to deliver measurable performance improvement. Responsibilities includes support for tactical business and strategic business initiatives and goals, problem solving, opportunity identification, realization and risk mitigation, development of teams and leaders, resource prioritization, project selection and execution to achieve sustainable results and transformational business impact.

This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending significant amounts of time in and around factory areas. The candidate must be capable and willing to work extended hours (when required) in a fast-paced deadline driven environment. The ideal candidate will possess the demonstrated skills and experience necessary to perform in a manufacturing leadership role.

This position is an onsite role.

What You Will Do

  • Site Leadership interface and interactions

  • Lead teams.

  • Coaching and developing leaders.

  • Changing and developing mindsets, behaviors, and capabilities through coaching and teaching

  • Teaching and coaching lean practices and principles.

  • Leading and developing a continuous improvement culture.

  • Partnering with key stakeholders to identify, prioritize and manage progress toward tactical and strategic improvement needs.

  • Translating business and program opportunities and risk into measurable business impact

  • Leading Continuous Improvement Operating Systems and project portfolio execution

  • Prioritizing available improvement resources in close collaboration with business, mission areas, product, and functional process stakeholders

  • Leading special projects critical to performance and strategic objectives

  • Supporting employee development and talent pipeline

  • Encouraging an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset centered on data driven decisions and promote rapid action toward implementing solutions.

  • Developing and propagating best practices; leverage benchmarking and enterprise engagement

  • Identifying systemic issues; driving to root cause and sustainable corrective and preventative actions

  • Presenting project status utilizing continuous improvement, Customer Oriented Results and Excellence operating system, business and program management tools and procedures.

    Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of eight (8) years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience.

  • Managerial or Supervisory experience.

  • Experience with lean manufacturing.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience/Education with Simulation Modeling and Constraint Analysis

  • Experience/Education with factory design and work cell optimization.

  • Experience/Education with project management.

  • Experience/Education with discrete event simulation.

  • Experience/Education with CAD software.

  • Six Sigma principles/certification

  • Manufacturing process control and performance analysis

  • Lean principles

  • Statistical Quality Control

  • An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
