Job Description

Join our team as a Medical Lab Scientist I, where you will perform both routine and complex technical procedures according to our department's Standard Operating Procedures. Your role will involve determining the acceptability of specimens for testing, monitoring and troubleshooting instrumentation, and making technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving. You will also prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls, report test results accurately and timely, and perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Additionally, you will assist with specimen processing and maintain a safe work environment.

Hard Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology

  • Clinical laboratory testing experience

  • State Medical Technologist license (if required)

  • ASCP or AMT certification (if required)

  • Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems

  • Familiarity with Abbott 4100, Alinity, Sysmex XN, Stago Evaluation, Stago Compact, Griffols Efflexis

Soft Skills

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen

  • Flexibility to work overtime or different shifts as needed

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 26 Weekly.
