System One has partnered with an oil and gas company that is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sales and Use Tax Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sales and use tax regulations and compliance requirements, particularly within the oil and gas sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze a large volume of sales and use tax invoices, primarily from Texas and Oklahoma
Prepare and file timely and accurate sales and use tax returns for both states
Conduct regular audits and reconcile discrepancies in sales and use tax filings
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and local tax laws and regulations
Assist with tax planning and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve tax-related issues and inquiries
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales and use tax accounting, preferably in the oil and gas industry
Strong knowledge of state and local tax laws, particularly in Texas and Oklahoma
Experience with tax software and ERP systems
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
