Packing is responsible for all aspects of handling, packaging, and outbound (SAP) requirements for all products shipping out of the facility. Packers need to be able to create packaging materials and correctly pack products in their containers to ensure safe transportation. Packers are responsible for affixing shipping labels and final sealing of boxes to prepare for shipping. Packing staff are responsible for the packaging and shipment of parts in a timely manner. A candidate for this position should be a people person who works well with a team and collaborate with people from other departments as well as working independently.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring products are handled and packaged to prevent damage to products.
Ensure products are property identified and labeled according to specified requirements.
Examine and inspect containers, materials, or products to ensure that product quality and packing specifications are met.
Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.
Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
Seal containers or materials, using glues, fasteners, tape, and hand tools.
Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers, using hand tools.
Deliver or route materials to departments using hand truck and sorting bins.
Perform data entry and participate in completing cycle counts.
Complete all documents completely and accurately in the computerized tracking system.
Drive plant performance through safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
Keep work area clean and organized to facilitate process flow improvements.
Participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
Process hazmat shipments.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
A minimum education requirement of High School Diploma or GED is required.
Have experience operating a computer and using inventory software.
Performs work in a safe manner and completes all required safety trainings.
Must have the ability to work any shifts and overtime including weekends.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
