The Revenue Cycle Manager plays a key role in the Finance Department of Upstate Cerebral Palsy. The Revenue Cycle Manager performs and manages staff who perform a full range of billing duties related to claims submission and payment collection, assists in establishing and implementing billing and collection policies and procedures in accordance with governmental and third party payor regulations. The Revenue Cycle Manager may be asked to assist with other departmental initiatives and projects, as they arise. This position is responsible to participate in interdepartmental team meetings, as well as meetings with external governmental/third party organizations as necessary.
Plan, direct, and evaluate billing and collection operations performed by staff to ensure positive cash flow, achieve operational efficiencies, and ensure compliance with established laws, regulations, practices and procedures.
Evaluate productivity goals and review level of progress and achievement; exercise discretion and judgment when recommending and implementing measures for improvement.
Monitors outgoing claims and invoices to ensure accuracy. Monitor incoming payments from insurance companies and other third party payors to ensure appropriate reimbursement.
Reports any trended issues to appropriate insurance provider representative and AVP of Revenue Cycle and/or VP of Revenue Cycle.
Review write-offs and denials to ensure payment accuracy and to identify any reimbursement problems.
Ensure productivity of billing and collections teams by developing and/or updating billing and collection processes, methods, guidelines, policies and best practices.
Maintain knowledge of HIPAA and other requirements.
Perform data quality and integrity reviews.
Review and sign off on Daily Deposit prior to submission to ensure all cash and checks are accounted for and coded correctly
Must have the ability to communicate orally and in writing on billing issues with individuals with varying degrees of billing familiarity.
Organize work and set priorities to meet deadlines working within prescribed time constraints.
Maintain positive relationships with consumers, families, staff, co-workers and governing/regulatory agencies.
Participate in department management meetings and team goals.
Coordinate with Agency programs, departments and interdisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of quality services.
Qualifications
A.A.S. Degree in Finance or Accounting or related field.
3-5 years of related experience in Medical Billing or related field.
Management Experience preferred.
Intermediate Computer Skills (Windows, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Word, Excel).
Valid NYS Drivers License
