The Assistant Plant Controller plays a key role in supporting the financial management and control of the plant's operations. They assist in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with company financial policies and procedures. This position provides essential support to the Plant Controller or Finance Manager in the effective management of financial activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Facilitate preparation of accurate financial reports (both management and statutory), including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

  • Cost Analysis: Assist in analyzing and tracking manufacturing costs, variances, and operational performance. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to identify opportunities for process optimization, cost savings, and enhanced financial control. Perform in-depth analysis of Material Price Variance (MPV), Purchase Price Variance (PPV), and Standard Price Variance (SPV) to understand the drivers of cost fluctuations within the supply chain processes.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts and ensure adherence to budgetary goals.

  • Tax management: identify potential tax risks and opportunities and develop strategies to mitigate risks. Contribute to the development of tax strategies that align with the organization's overall financial objectives, including tax-efficient structuring of transactions and operations. Review tax-related financial reports and disclosures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and ensure accurate and timely reporting. Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations and provide guidance and training to relevant personnel within the organization to ensure compliance.

  • Transfer Pricing: Monitor and maintain transfer pricing policies to ensure they align with global tax strategies and regulations, and support preparation of any necessary documentation and reporting.

  • Inventory Management: Support in monitoring inventory levels and inventory control processes.

  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures, as well as local and US regulatory requirements (inc. SOX).

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Provide recommendations for improvements.

  • Month-End Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Internal Controls: Help establish and maintain internal controls and processes / procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.

  • ERP Systems: Utilize ERP systems and financial software (data cubes) to manage financial data and reporting.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, business, and other departments, to achieve financial objectives and identify areas for process improvement, waste reduction, and increased efficiency within the plant's financial and accounting processes.

  • Standardization: Work towards standardizing financial and accounting processes and procedures to ensure consistency and reduce variation while adhering to Lean principles.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. ACCA/CPA/CMA certification is a plus.

  • Advanced level of English

  • Previous experience in a similar financial or accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial software and ERP systems.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Detail-oriented and organized, hands-on approach.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Knowledge of cost accounting principles and manufacturing processes is a plus.
