Job Summary:
This position is a highly skilled person with experience in operating and maintaining all types of equipment in their areas of responsibility. They must be knowledgeable in all relevant rules and regulations. Primary responsibility is to manage the staff with the primary objectives being, ensuring safe and reliable operation of the lifts with an emphasis on proficiency, safety in the work place, and leadership in all areas of lift maintenance. Assure that the lift department Director is immediately informed and consulted on all abnormal or unusual conditions and occurrences.
Job Responsibilities:
To manage the safe and efficient day-to-day maintenance operations of Lifts, including construction as appropriate for $5-10 million chairlift equipment.
Responsible for managing the safe and reliable maintenance operations and providing the quality and reliable service desired by our guests and Vail Resorts.
Responsible for assuring the lifts are in compliance with CPTSB and Vail Resorts rules and regulations.
Assist Director in tracking operating / capital expenses and assure proper allocation of expenditures.
Responsible for conduct, training, Lift Dept. Policies, Vail Resorts policies, and ensuring paperwork & procedures are completed in a timely manner.
Responsible for the hiring, training, and development of all lift electrical maintenance personnel.
Responsible for summer and winter preventive electrical maintenance programs and summer maintenance programs to include inspection of work performed to maximize lift safety and reliability.
Plan and organize the electrical maintenance group activities so that work is accomplished in a complete, orderly and timely manner.
Direct and control the maintenance of all tooling, equipment, and vehicles.
Assure that the Director is immediately informed and consulted on all abnormal or unusual conditions, incidents, or system malfunctions.
Assure that all records required by Vail Resorts and the authorities having jurisdiction are maintained and kept up-to-date. This includes, but is not limited to, all electrical/mechanical and operational procedures, as well as, the daily maintenance, operational logs, lift failures and incidents.
Job Requirements:
High School education or equivalent, some college preferred
5 years of demonstrated management experience in lift maintenance and operations or related field.
2 years previous supervisory experience.
Valid Colorado Driver’s License.
Microsoft platform, office suite PLC programing Preferred.
Read, write and speak English.
Know and understand Lift Maintenance, Lift operations, and management skills.
Know rules and regulations governing maintenance and ski operations.
Intermediate level skier/rider helpful.
The expected pay range is $76,841 - $118,830 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
