The Job:

As a Dealer Technical Representative, you’ll be part of our Outdoor Products Dealer Support Team working as a virtual employee. The Dealer Technical Representative is responsible for providing technical support to Dealers on all SBD Outdoor Products, including but not limited to: riding lawn mowers, zero turn lawn mowers, walk behind lawn mowers, hand held products, compact tractors, commercial equipment, lithium-ion battery products, utility vehicles, snow blowers, and tillers. 

The ideal candidate would be a motivated individual that operates with a high degree of professionalism and is willing to be a team player. Our Dealer Service Team is a fast-paced and growing department, which will require an individual with high level critical thinking skills and a willingness to learn new advancing product lines. You’ll get to:

  • Communicate with SBD Outdoor Dealer Network, primarily by phone, in a professional manner 

  • Answer Service Manager and Technician’s questions concerning assembly, operation, repair, warranty, and maintenance related to OPE products

  • Answer Dealer questions regarding advanced troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems 

  • Assist Dealers in troubleshooting all issues related to any product in the SBD Outdoor line up 

  • Assist Dealer network and Warranty department with identifying warranty defect and analyzing failures 

  • Communicating failures from the dealer network to Quality and Engineering Teams 

  • Document important customer, product, and call type information into CRM while on a call 

  • Utilize and support Continuous Improvement initiatives 

  • Serves as a technical resource to Customer Support Advocates 

  • Participate in product platform review meetings 

  • Assist training and education department with training 

  • Other job duties as assigned 

The Person:

  • High school diploma or an equivalent required 

  • Customer Service Experience 

  • 3 years of relevant experience 

  • EETC certifications are a plus 

  • Landscaping or Outdoor Power Equipment experience a plus 

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as service manuals, wiring diagrams and engineering prints associated with outdoor power equipment products 

  • Intermediate computer and keyboarding skills 

  • Knowledge of mechanical and operational theories common to general shop practices 

  • A complete understanding of hydraulic, electrical, engine, and drive systems 

  • Experience with power sport industry and electric power equipment is preferred 

  • Excellent customer service skills including but not limited to being friendly, courteous, and helpful 

  • Ability to defuse complex and escalated customer situations while demonstrating empathy 

  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively
