Aston Carter Financial Business Analyst in Vancouver, British Columbia

Job Title: Financial Business AnalystJob Description

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst in Toronto, Calgary, or Vancouver to join our team. Our organization is reviewing the tools and processes that support various departments within the Finance team to modernize infrastructure and streamline processes for efficiency. A major initiative has been prioritized and funded for this purpose.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews and workshops with stakeholders to understand current state and future needs.

  • Analyze existing systems and processes to identify areas for improvement.

  • Document detailed business and technical requirements.

  • Create process flow and architecture diagrams.

  • Serve as a liaison between business and technical teams.

  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Facilitate meetings and presentations.

  • Provide regular updates on progress.

  • Work closely with technical team members including business analysts and architects.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including workflow documentation, technical specifications, and user guides.

  • Identify elegant solutions to complex problems.

Essential Skills

  • 5-7 years of experience in process mapping (manual and automated) specifically within finance/accounting teams.

  • Ability to understand and interpret technical documentation and architecture diagrams.

  • Ability to gather, analyze, and document business requirements and processes.

  • Ability to produce high-level architecture diagrams.

  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle, databases, and system architecture.

  • Experience working in collaboration with software developers.

  • Experience within a regulatory environment.

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and File Transfer Protocols.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience within financial institutions.

  • Experience within big 5 financial institutions.

  • Experience working with finance and accounting.

  • Familiarity with AWS.

  • Experience with RPA platforms.

We are a boutique financial institution with offices located in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal, having been in the Canadian marketplace for over 35 years. The team is very close-knit, transparent, social, and outgoing. We work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate closely with the Finance Transformation Team to support a large volume of financial optimization projects. The role is hybrid, requiring in-office presence twice a week, with the flexibility of a 40-hour work week. Our offices are located in downtown Vancouver and Toronto, easily accessible by transit.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $110000.00/hr.
