Description
POSITION:
The Economic Vitality and Arts & Culture Support Coordinator performs, under general supervision, more routine phases of professional or technical work in a department/agency; may act as a lead worker to lower-level staff; and perform other work as required.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate must have the ability to assist with administrative tasks for the Economic Vitality and Arts & Culture departments; work with a diverse group of customers, staff, and stakeholders; and communicate with tact and diplomacy. The candidate should also be capable of preparing basic office documents related to these departments and conducting basic research on economic data, trends, and funding opportunities. The incumbent will also handle highly confidential information and must maintain its confidentiality.

The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill current and future Regular (including Temporary and Fixed-term), Intermittent, and Extra Help vacancies for this position only. There is currently one (1) Extra Help vacancy within the County Executive Office.
This recruitment is for Extra Help and/or Intermittent employment only. Incumbents are not eligible for benefits. This assignment will last at least through June 2025 and may possibly be extended.
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE

Examples Of Duties
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Assists with administrative tasks for the Economic Vitality and Arts & Culture departments, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, helping with event coordination, gathering information to support projects, and processing invoices.
Prepares basic office documents and digital communications such as reports, emails, newsletters, social media updates, website and blog posts, and other general marketing materials such as brochures and flyers related to Economic Vitality and Arts & Culture.
Communicates with customers, staff, and stakeholders via email, phone, and in-person to address basic questions and assist with logistical needs.
Helps maintain databases with information from grant applications, community outreach efforts, and research projects.
Supports the planning, organizing, and coordinating of events, meetings, and workshops to promote economic vitality and local arts and culture;
May lead, coordinate, and manage complex special projects as assigned;
Conducts basic research on economic data, trends, and funding opportunities to help inform projects and support decision-making; and
Performs other related duties as required.
Typical Qualifications

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and/or experience that would provide the knowledge and abilities listed below.
An example of qualifying education and experience is as follows:
Four (4) years of advanced-level clerical or administrative support experience, including conducting research, managing grants and/or performing community outreach
OR
The equivalent of a bachelor's degree in economics, social science, political science, public administration, business administration, communications or related discipline.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able and willing to work Extra-Help (20 – 24 hours per week).
Must possess and maintain a valid driver license issued by the State of California as a condition of employment.
Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Customer service experience.
Strong organizational skills.
Basic Word and Excel proficiency.
DESIRED:
Experience with planning of events, meetings, and workshops.
Knowledge of general marketing communications principles.
Experience using Canva, Constant Contact, and/or other graphic design tools.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
