ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The Primetime Assistant Department Leader (PADL) is focused on providing leadership support and direction
during primetime hours (3p-7p M-F; 11a-7p Sat/Sun) to drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role of the Primetime Assistant Department Leader is to partner with the Store Leader and
Department Leader to develop a high-performance culture where associates are aligned to the business
strategy and receive the knowledge and training needed to deliver a consistently great experience for
Every Customer, Every Time.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE:
• Train and develop new hires on best practices
• Coach existing associates on best practices, and retrain where needed, to elevate the customer
experience. Ensure associates are:
» Knowledgeable, friendly, and confidently focused on providing exceptional customer service
» In uniform, greeting, smiling, and making eye contact with customers
» Offering help and suggestions, and acknowledging waiting customers
» Offering to show customers to the product(s) they are looking for, and thanking them for
stopping in
» Allowing space for customers to shop while performing daily tasks
• Ensure department is full and fresh and replenished, as appropriate, after primetime. Work with
associates to make sure:
» Orders are put up in a timely manner, working backstock, rotating product and replenishing
throughout the day
» Merchandising standards are being followed
» The behaviors to in-stock are being executed daily
» Food safety and sanitation best practices are being followed
» Hourly conditioning is taking place so products are kept fresh and displays are clean
» Back room and prep areas are clean and 5S practices are being executed
» A "good close" is being executed to ensure department is more quickly set up in the morning
• Ensure items are properly dated in the backroom - check quality of items with a date older than
3 days
• Receive "Very Good" performance in Our Promise Shops Fresh
• Spend 100% of time in the Produce department coaching, teaching, and leading the produce
primetime team in execution of operational best practices that support Every Customer, Every
