LSI Solutions Calibration Technician I and II Days - (8am to 5pm) in Victor, New York

POSITION TITLE: Calibration Technician I, II

SHIFT HOURS: 8:00AM - 5:00PM

LOCATION: Onsite at LSI Solutions in Victor, NY

HOURLY PAY RANGE: $26.00 - $36.00

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Calibration Technician Level I

  • Maintain, test, calibrate, install and repair instruments, gages, and testing devices.

  • Perform job functions under limited supervision in laboratory, production area and cleanroom environments.

  • Read and understand calibration work instructions and engineering drawings.

  • Perform calibrations and take measurements traceable to the International System of Units (SI) using appropriate reference standards (NIST traceable).

  • Take measurements using hand and standard electronic measurement devices.

  • Analyze and interpret calibration data in order to determine gage status and need for adjustments.

  • Document calibration tasks by entering calibration results into calibration reports and data base.

  • Comply with work policies and safety issues related to programs or equipment usage.

  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

    Calibration Technician Level II

  • Perform job functions independently in laboratory, production area and cleanroom environments.

  • Analyze and interpret calibration data in order to make conclusions and assist in NCMR and CAPA investigations .

  • Generate and review out-of-tolerance and non-conforming material reports (NCMR).

  • Take measurements using automated measurement equipment.

  • Generate purchase orders and communicate with calibration suppliers to coordinate the outsourced calibration activities.

  • Train new Calibration Technician I, monitor proficiency and competence.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

    Calibration Technician Level I

  • Pickup and deliver gages before and after calibration to multiple buildings and departments.

  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

    Calibration Technician Level II

  • Assist in and collaborate on the writing of calibration work instructions and procedures.

  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    Any of the following exhibit acceptable experience for this position:

    Calibration Technician Level I

  • Associate degree with a minimum of 2 years related experience.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in quality/calibration field or in medical manufacturing.

  • Technical degree preferred, but not required.

    Calibration Technician Level II

  • Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) preferred but not required.

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in quality field or a minimum of 2 years of experience in medical manufacturing.

  • Associate degree with a minimum of 2 years related experience.

  • B.S. degree in technical discipline.

  • Technical degree recommended but not required.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    Calibration Technician Level I

  • Read and understand calibration work instructions.

  • Read and understand engineering drawings.

  • Ability to measure with manual hand and standard electronic tools.

  • Knowledge of basic math.

  • Knowledge of when and how to use ideas, procedures, methods, formulas, principles, theories, etc.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.

  • Ability to identify and apply common elements of calibration procedures such as 1) required equipment, 2) revisions, 3) equipment listing, 4) environmental considerations and restraints, and 5) common procedures.

  • Identify various aspects of traceability, including traceability through commercial and national laboratories.

  • Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and Windows OS.

  • Familiarity with regulations and standards: FDA 21 CFR PART 820 (cGMP), ISO 13485, and ISO 17025.

  • Organized, efficient, process oriented, self-motivated; a good team player; possessing a strong work ethic, tactful, and professional.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Works well under pressure in a dynamic environment.

    Calibration Technician Level II

  • Knowledge of basic Smartscope programing and running calibration routines.

  • Intermediate mathematic ability- mathematics and statistics.

  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion.

  • GD&T Training and appropriate application.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Retrieve gages from other department by walking from building to building collecting items for calibration and then return calibrated items in all weather conditions.
