Shire Program Management Lead for Hematology Products (m/f) in Vienna, Austria

About the position:

The Program Management Lead is an experienced professional who provides business and technical leadership for high-priority, complex and cross-functional portfolio of projects; s/he leads and is accountable for product projects and related project performance including milestone hit rate, financial achievement and is a liaison for management and other internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities in more detail:

  • Launches project opportunities (idea generation to project initiation) by leading development of proposals, project charters and/or business cases for project approvals & subsequently determines ownership for project execution within the network

  • Sets up, scopes, develops high level project plans and monitors execution of global strategic cross-functional product specific projects/task forces

  • Supports strategic planning with respect to projects and growth capacity

  • Monitors launch execution

  • Interfaces with management within and outside Operations to coordinate project priorities, communications, and issue escalation to all levels of management

  • Drives accountability and tracks progress for milestone hit rate of Product Operations program/projects

  • Supports establishment of critical business processes to drive excellence in project execution

  • Facilitates translation of product strategy into clear and measurable team goals

  • Participates in the evaluation and feasibility process for potential projects.

  • Provides clear direction on project requirements to meet expectations of external customers and business stakeholders.

  • Interacts through program and/or project updates and reviews with all levels of management.

  • Drives implementation of projects by participating to establishing strategy, schedules, budgets, and financial analysis.

  • Approves team deliverables for project completion.

  • Drives development of operating mechanisms & stakeholder mapping and ensures implementation of Tech Ops product governance throughout all projects

  • Recognizes opportunity for improved department objectives and approaches

  • Leads team in risk management approaches and systems.

  • Provides complex scenario analysis for issues with significant business impact

  • Responsible for making decisions regarding the appropriate risk when there is substantial project or program impact.

  • Serves as a champion of Shire’s Project Management Methodology and associated Project Management Office processes, recognizing how project results seriously impact the overall success of the organization.

  • Ensures appropriate linkages of this information to the project prioritization and/ or portfolio process

  • Maximizes business results through continuous improvement in organization’s ability to execute projects and programs

Skills you need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in a life science field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 8+ years industry work experience with experience in pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, operations, finance and program management required

  • Willingness to travel internationally

  • Ability to make quick decisions and communicate clear recommendations to higher management

  • Advanced program/project management competence

  • Efficient communicator with a business mindset and high values

  • Enthusiasm for a dynamic work environment and for work that has a high impact on the lives of patients

The minimum salary for this position is € 4.225,44 gross per month (full-time); increased payment is highly likely. We are looking forward to your application.
